It’s no longer news that ASUU which in full stands for Academic Staff Union of Universities have been on strike for 8 months now if not more than that.
University students for the past months have been at home hoping for goodnews anytime soon specially those who are meant to graduate this year.
Right now Polytechnics, College of Educations and other higher educational institutions are in section except universities under ASUU.
Over the weekend, there were news flying up and down that the 8 Months ASUU strike have been suspended which made students happy, even some started packing their luggages already.
The Joy of the news was cut short after it was debunked as Fake News by a senior member of the association (ASUU) who said the association didn’t call off the strike.
He added that if the strike is being suspended there will be a press conference. So, we all should note that the News of ASUU suspending strike is fake. (22nd November 2020)
I can still recall that on Friday, Federal government agreed to increase the Earned Allowances to university staff from N30 billion to N35b and the Revitalisation Fund from N20b to N25b.
After the above agreement with ASUU they didn’t suspend the strike, I feel like crying.
Do You Think ASUU should consider the offer from Federal Government and suspend strike?
